LedgerLens Terms of Service

Last updated: June 21, 2026. These terms govern your use of LedgerLens, a Chrome extension that runs a read-only diagnostic on the QuickBooks Online company you are viewing and produces a findings report you can hand to a client.

The short version: LedgerLens reads what is already on your screen, runs its checks inside your browser, and writes up the result. It never edits the file, never stores or transmits your client's financial data, and is not advice — every finding is an item for you to review and decide on. The sections below set out the full terms, including the limits on our liability.

01Accepting these terms

By installing or using LedgerLens (the "Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using it on behalf of a firm, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for that firm. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension. We may revise these terms over time; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version, and continuing to use the Extension after a change means you accept the revised terms.

02What LedgerLens does

LedgerLens is a diagnostic aid for bookkeepers and accountants. When you click Run Diagnostic on a QuickBooks Online page, it reads the report data already displayed on that page, runs a set of checks, and assembles a findings report. The Extension is:

03Not financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice

LedgerLens does not provide financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and using it does not create any advisory or professional relationship with us. Each finding is an item to review, not a verdict on the file. The Extension may surface items that turn out to be fine, and it may not detect every issue in a company file. You are responsible for evaluating each finding, exercising your own professional judgment, and confirming anything with a qualified professional before acting. A result from LedgerLens does not establish that a file is free of issues.

04Your client's data stays in your browser

All diagnostic processing happens locally, in your browser. LedgerLens does not send your clients' financial data to us or to any third party — that data never leaves your device. So that findings can accumulate as you move through a company's reports, LedgerLens keeps a work-in-progress snapshot on your own device (in your browser's local storage), which you can remove at any time with the "Start over" control. The only outbound request it makes is an anonymous license check, which never includes any QuickBooks Online data, finding, or report. This matches our Privacy Policy.

05Acceptable use

You agree to use LedgerLens only on QuickBooks Online files you are authorized to access, and only for its intended purpose: reviewing books and preparing findings for yourself or your clients. You agree not to:

We may suspend or end your access if you use the Extension in breach of these terms.

06Provided "as is"

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted, that it will catch every issue in a file, or that the findings it produces are complete. You use it at your own discretion and rely on it at your own risk.

07Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

No indirect or consequential damages We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost time, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Extension — even if we were advised that such damages were possible.
Liability cap Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Extension is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Extension in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

08Intellectual property

The Extension, including its code, design, checks, report layout, name, and logo, belongs to us and is protected by intellectual-property law. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Extension under your license; they do not transfer any ownership to you. The findings report LedgerLens generates is yours to use with your clients — what you put into it and what you do with it is your responsibility.

09Independent tool · not affiliated with Intuit

LedgerLens is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Intuit. "QuickBooks" and "QuickBooks Online" are trademarks of Intuit Inc., used here only to describe what the Extension works with. Your use of QuickBooks Online remains governed by Intuit's own terms.

10Changes to the Extension or these terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the Extension or any of its features at any time. We may also revise these terms; when we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to note it on our Chrome Web Store page. Your continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Extension or these terms will be brought in the courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
